SFTP settings for PW Hosting.

Connect to your hosting account with any SFTP client to upload, download, and manage your website files over an encrypted connection.

Server settings

Values to enter in your SFTP client

Use these values whenever your client asks for a connection profile.

Connection settings

These are the same values whether you're on FileZilla, Cyberduck, Transmit, WinSCP, or another SFTP client.

Protocol SFTP
Hostname sftp.pwhosts.com
Port 22
Username The SFTP username from your account list, for example a0027428
Password The password set for that SFTP account

Works with any SFTP client

These are common choices, but any client that supports SFTP will connect fine.

Step-by-step guides

Connect with your SFTP client

Enter the same host, port, username, and password in whichever client you choose.

FileZilla (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  1. Open FileZilla and go to File > Site Manager.
  2. Click New Site and give it a name.
  3. Set Protocol to SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol.
  4. Set Host to sftp.pwhosts.com and Port to 22.
  5. Set Logon Type to Normal, then enter your SFTP username and password.
  6. Click Connect and accept the host key on first connection.

Cyberduck (macOS, Windows)
  1. Open Cyberduck and click Open Connection.
  2. Choose SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) from the dropdown.
  3. Set Server to sftp.pwhosts.com and Port to 22.
  4. Enter your SFTP username and password.
  5. Click Connect and accept the fingerprint on first connection.

Transmit (macOS)
  1. Open Transmit and click Servers > New Favorite.
  2. Set Protocol to SFTP.
  3. Set Server to sftp.pwhosts.com and Port to 22.
  4. Enter your SFTP username and password.
  5. Click Connect.

WinSCP (Windows)
  1. Open WinSCP. The Login dialog appears by default.
  2. Set File protocol to SFTP.
  3. Set Host name to sftp.pwhosts.com and Port number to 22.
  4. Enter your SFTP username and password.
  5. Click Login and accept the host key on first connection.
